We bought this product to connect our laptop to our TV via the HDMI cable that was already wired through the wall (hence the need for the female HDMI adapter).
It shipped quickly, worked immediately with little setup, and the USB split-off allows the audio from the laptop to come through the TV speakers, which is exactly what we needed (and which a VGA alone, wouldn't do).
Only have had it for a week, but so far it's been a great product!
